Ktima Pavlidis is located in Kokkinogia, in the northwest part of Drama prefecture, about 19 kilometers from Drama.
It was founded in 1998 by Christoforos Pavlidis, who after a persistent search has chosen this particular area to install the vineyards and the winery. Ktima Pavlidis’ privately-owned vineyards are situated in the region of Kokkinogia (20 hectares) and of Perichora (40 hectares). Both sites are well known for their vineyards since antiquity.
The estate’s vineyard is a standard vertical shoot positioning, ideal for optimal sunlight exposure. In addition, the summer afternoon breeze helps the vines overcome midday stress, thus ensuring a steady and complete ripening. The red clayish soils are perfectly suited to the native varieties Assyrtiko and Agiorgitiko, as well as the French varieties Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay and Syrah, and the Spanish variety Tempranillo.
The main goal of Ktima Pavlidis is to produce fine wines from Greek indigenous and international varieties bearing the unique characteristics of the terroir.
Ktima Pavlidis is one of the rare wineries in Greece night harvesting.
In particular, Ktima Pavlidis features the family of wines THEMA, with THEMA white a blend of Assyrtiko and Sauvignon Blanc, THEMA red a blend of Agiorgitiko and Syrah and THEMA rosé from the Spanish grape variety Tempranillo. Finally, there are the premium single varietal wines of EMPHASIS Assyrtiko, EMPHASIS Chardonnay, EMPHASIS Tempranillo and EMPHASIS Syrah.
A visit in Ktima Pavlidis includes: a tour in the privately-owned vineyard of Kokkinogia, followed by a tour in the production area. The visitor will be taken through the winery, in a building of cutting edge architecture of 3.000 m2, minimalist with contemporary, simple lines, inspired by the New World style.
Winery tour is available in Greek, English and French, and lasts up to 60 minutes.
