The Livadioti estate is located in Marathousa Halkidiki and operates traditionally with viticulture and wine production. The Livadioti family, long ago, knew that in the area there were vineyards since ancient times, that produced high quality wines. So in 1978 they decided to get involved and to bring back to light the prestige and reputation of the region in wine. The idea to build the winery had always existed. 30 years now we traditionally produce wine from the grapes of the estate.
The construction of the modern and visitable winery was completed in 2008. In the vineyards of the estate, spanning 120 acres, are hosted Greek and international grape varieties like Assyrtiko - Malagouzia - Chardonnay - Sauvignon Blanc - Syrah - Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot. The low yield per hectare and the contemporary culture method, in combination with the modern mechanical winery equipment, result in the production of high quality wine
Visitors have the opportunity to tour the vineyards of the estate, on paved runways that exist between them, to acknowledge closely all the basic principals of viticulture, from planting to harvest.
With the maturation of the grapes and their harvest, the heart of the estate beats in the winery. Here the visitor has the opportunity to learn about the wine making techniques and all the stages of wine production.
The equipment of the winery has nothing to envy of most modern wineries in Greece. Here the grapes are brought aſter harvesting, in a sterile environment. With complete control of temperatures, with respect to tradition and combined with modern machinery and refrigerated tanks, we produce and create high quality wines.
In our air-conditioned underground cellars, with ideal temperature conditions in total darkness, in oak barrels, exemplary mature the wines of the estate.
In the distillery, which is stated at the center of the estate, are housed three traditional stills (boilers) of tsipouro distillation. There from 10 October to mid-December, with recipes inherited from our grandparents, we distil and produce the tsipouro of the estate.
In the estate the visitor can see and buy traditional products, giſts and the estate wines. In the end of the guided tour there is gastronomy tasting, accompanied by buffet or dishes, at the restaurant or the garden, depending on weather conditions.
